We respect the confidentiality of your personal data. For this reason, we do not collect data on this website which could be used to identify you personally (e.g. your name, address, telephone number, email address) unless you make it available to us by entering it in forms and emails. In general, the data you provide is only processed for the purposes for which we collected and stored it. It is not processed in any other way.

Your data may be processed for purposes other than that specified above if the necessary legal conditions set out in Art. 6(4) GDPR are met. Here, due attention is paid to the relevant information obligations set out in Art. 13(3) GDPR and Art. 14 GDPR.

Legal basis for data processing

Unless more specific legal provisions exist, the legal basis for the processing of personal data is Art. 6 GDPR. The following possibilities may apply:

  • Consent (Art. 6(1)(a) GDPR)
  • Data processing for the performance of contracts (Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR)
  • Data processing for the purposes of legitimate interests (Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR)
  • Data processing for compliance with a legal obligation (Art. 6(1)(c) GDPR)

If the processing of your personal data is based on your consent, you have the right to withdraw this at any time with future effect by notifying us accordingly.

If the processing of your personal data is based on the pursuit of our legitimate interests, you as the data subject have the right to object to the processing of your personal data with due attention to the provisions in Art. 21 GDPR.

Data storage period

We will process your data for as long as this is necessary to fulfil the purpose for which it was collected.

Where statutory retention periods apply, e.g. in commercial or tax law, the respective personal data will be stored for the duration of the statutory retention period. Once the statutory retention period expires, we will determine whether the processing is still necessary. If it is no longer necessary, the data will be erased or destroyed.

In principle, we review the data at regular intervals to determine whether further processing is necessary. Due to the sheer volume of this data, the review encompasses specific data types or the purposes for which it is processed.

You have the option to obtain information from us at any time as to which of your personal data we are storing. If the data processing is not necessary, you can ask for your data to be erased or have the processing thereof restricted.

Transferral of data

In principle, your personal data is only transferred to third parties if this is necessary for the performance of our contract with you, if the transfer is admissible for purposes of our legitimate interests within the meaning of Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR, if we are obliged by law to transfer your data, or if you have given us your consent thereto.

Data processing location

We process your personal data at computer centres in the European Union (EU) and the United States of America (USA).

Rights of data subjects

You have the right to obtain information from us regarding which of your personal data we are processing. If your request for information is not made in writing, please understand that we may ask you to furnish proof that you are the person who you claim to be.

Furthermore, you have the right to request the rectification or erasure of your data and to request restriction of the processing thereof insofar as this is admissible by law. You also have the right to object to the processing of your personal data within the scope of the law. The same applies to your right to data portability.

In particular, you have the right pursuant to Art. 21 par. 1 and 2 GDPR to object to the processing of your data for direct advertising purposes if this is carried out on the basis of a legitimate interest.

Automatically collected information that does not facilitate personal identification

In some cases, H&K Müller GmbH & Co. KG collects information with which you cannot be personally identified. Examples include the web browser and operating system you are using and the domain name of the website which provided the link through which you reached our website. The provider automatically collects information when you access our website. This information, also known as server log files, is general in nature and does not enable conclusions to be drawn regarding your identity.

Use of cookies

We use so-called cookies on some of our web pages to make our website more appealing and to facilitate the use of certain functions. Cookies are small text files that are stored on your terminal device. Some of the cookies we use are deleted at the end of your browser session, i.e. when you close your browser (these are known as session cookies). Other cookies are stored on your terminal device and enable us to recognise your browser the next time you visit our website (persistent cookies). You can configure your browser to notify you when cookies are installed so that you can decide whether to accept each cookie; alternatively, you can set it to refuse some or all cookies. If you do not accept cookies, your ability to use certain functions on our website may be limited.

Use of data from the contact form

If you contact us by email or using the contact form, we store the personal information you provide for the purpose of responding to your query.

Data processing for the purpose of initiating a contract

If we receive your contact data (surname, first name, email address etc.) in connection with the purchase of an item or service, or when you initiate a correspondence with us, we reserve the right to use this contact data to implement measures prior to the conclusion of a contract and/or to maintain our business contact with you insofar as you do not object to this.

Use of data for postal advertising and your right to object

Furthermore, we reserve the right to store your first name, surname, postal address and – insofar as we obtained this additional information during the course of our contractual relationship with you – your title, academic degree, birth year, and your professional, industrial or business function in lists, and to use this data for our own advertising purposes, e.g. to send you interesting offers and product information by post. You can object to the storage and use of your data for these purposes at any time by sending us a message using the contact information provided in the Legal Notice.

Use of Google (Universal) Analytics for purposes of web analysis

This website uses Google (Universal) Analytics, a web analysis service provided by Google Inc. (www.google.de). Google (Universal) Analytics uses methods such as “cookies” (text files stored on your computer) that facilitate analysis of your use of this website. The information generated with regard to your use of this website is usually transmitted to a Google server in the USA and stored there. By activating IP anonymisation on this website, the IP address is shortened within the European Union member states or in other states that are party to the European Economic Agreement before it is transmitted. Only in exceptional cases is the full IP address transmitted to a Google server in the USA and shortened there. The anonymised IP address transmitted by your browser for use by Google Analytics is not combined with other Google data.

You can prevent Google from collecting and processing the data generated by the cookie with regard to your use of this website (including your IP address) by downloading and installing the browser plug-in available at the following link: http://tools.google.com/dlpage/gaoptout?hl=en

As an alternative to the browser plug-in, you can click on the following link to prevent Google Analytics from collecting the data relating to your use of this website in the future: prevent Google Analytics from tracking me. This will store an opt-out cookie on your terminal device. If you delete your cookies, you will have to click on this link again: prevent Google Analytics from tracking me.

Social media plug-ins – Facebook

When you use the Facebook button on our homepage, your browser establishes a direct connection with the Facebook servers. Facebook transmits the content of the plug-ins used directly to your browser, which then integrates them into the web page.

In this way, Facebook receives the information that your browser has accessed the respective page. This is also the case if you do not have a Facebook account or are not logged in to Facebook. Your browser transmits this information and your IP address directly to a Facebook server in the USA for storage and processing. If you are logged in to Facebook, this data can be assigned directly to your Facebook account.

Facebook can then use this data for purposes of advertising and market research, and to structure Facebook pages in keeping with your requirements. To this end, Facebook generates use, interest and relationship profiles, e.g. to evaluate your use of our website with regard to the advertisements displayed to you on Facebook, to inform other Facebook users about your activities on our website and to render other services associated with the use of Facebook.

If you do not wish Facebook to assign the data collected through our website to your Facebook account, you must log out of Facebook before you visit our website.

Please refer to Facebook's privacy policy for further information on the scope of the data collected, the purpose for which it is collected, the way in which it is used and processed by Facebook, your rights in this respect, and how you can adjust your settings to protect your privacy.

Every time you access a page on our website which contains one of these elements, the browser you are using downloads the XING elements for display as appropriate.

Through this process, LinkedIn receives information as to which of our web pages you are currently visiting. If you click the LinkedIn “Recommend” button while you are logged in to your LinkedIn account, you can link the content of our website on your LinkedIn profile. This enables LinkedIn to assign visits to our website to your LinkedIn user account.

We have no influence over the nature or scope of the data which LinkedIn collects in this way. Moreover, we have no knowledge of the content of the data transmitted to LinkedIn.
